There is a symbiotic relationship between community and language. Regardless of the language we speak, we all use words, symbols, sounds and images to communicate. How we use them, and to what end, is what will set us apart.
A community is full of rhythms, coming and going, people, neighborhoods, yield signs, stop signs. A sentence is made of words, sentences, commas, and periods. Community is Communication. Communicate. Community. Unity.
Orangeville needs a new voice. Orangeville needs a new platform. We’ll do this with words. They’re cheap, accessible and powerful.
We believe that words are the real weapons of mass construction, destruction and instruction. We believe in respecting the rules, and then smashing them into a million pieces and turning them into art.
We’re not about making enemies. We’re about forging new relationships because with new relationships come new ideas.
We want to encourage civic engagement because an engaged community is a connected community.
We believe that the alphabet is a renewable source of energy. We believe that there are a finite number of stories but an infinite number of ways to tell them.
Silence speaks louder than words.

We believe that language is a privilege, something to be nourished, harvested, and respected.
We have the unique experience of living atop the highest elevation in southern Ontario. We can see things that others can’t and yet, and yet…
If we can rewrite our stories, find new and unique ways to tell them, then we can redefine how we live.
Just because we live in a small town doesn’t mean we have to think small, talk small or act small.
Write. Share. Love.
